Alan November was in Winnipeg talking to teachers, administrators, consultants about the importance of teaching students to be independent and resourceful learners. He stressed the fact that students need to know how to use technology, specifically the internet to access massive amounts of knowledge. According to Alan schools are currently using computers as very expensive typewriters and not truly using them to prepare students for the competitive world of work.He also introduced the idea of blogs as a way of students reflecting on what they are learning in school and sharing those reflections with others.Have you heard about Alan November's work? How are you using technology? Let me tell you that I have a lot to learn but it all makes sense. When I was in the classroom, I used to have students use journals as a way of reflecting on their learning. I see this as their next step. What do you think about all this??

Welcome everyone to my blog!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone!

I have been sipping the blog Kool-Aid and I am here to share it.
